This morning I was determined to get out of bed early and for a walk in the park and meditation. Sometimes just being determined isn’t enough, as when that alarm rings so loudly in the morning my first thought is not about walking and meditating it is more like “ten more minutes sleep!”
Last night I decided the next morning would be different. Not only was I determined, but I had intent as well. Intent to start the day peacefully and calmly. Intent to be with just my own thoughts before the hectic morning rush to get ready began. Intent to appreciate the beautiful park, the green grass and the birds and their morning song.
Right I thought, there is no stopping me and as I set my alarm I then dozed off to slumber land.
The next morning I actually woke up before the alarm announced rather too loudly to the world it was time to get up. I got out off bed, changed, and out the door without even thinking about an extra ten minutes sleep.
As I walked to the park I realised I had a spring of life to my step and I was looking forward to this peaceful time alone, to be, appreciate and simply enjoy life.
What a wonderful way to greet the day, with intention, determination and appreciation.
